Setting these boundaries helps in filtering out those who are serious from those who are not.

    Accountability Strategies

Accountability is key to effective mentoring. Jordan stresses that mentees must follow through on advice and not repeatedly seek help for the same issues. These strategies ensure that mentees take responsibility for their actions and progress.

    Introduction Management

Managing introductions is another critical aspect of mentoring. Jason advises making introductions one at a time to ensure mentees follow through and do not waste opportunities. Jordan adds that if mentees fail to pursue these introductions, they should not be given further chances 2. This approach helps in identifying committed mentees and prevents the mentor's network from being misused.

If they don't follow through on the introduction, they cannot ask for other introductions or favors because then there's wasting people's time. They're making you look bad.

Introducing mentees to one another can also foster a supportive community and enhance their learning experience.
