Chewing Khat in Yemen and Somalia

Drew shares his experience of trying Khat in Yemen and Somalia, a popular stimulant consumed by 90% of the men in the region. Khat is legal and commonly used as a substitute for alcohol. It tastes like leaves but has a strong effect, similar to drinking multiple energy drinks. The chat economy represents one percent of the underground economy in Somalia.
