Captured Shock

Matthew describes his experience with capture shock after being kidnapped in Syria, and how it affected his ability to think and plan for escape. Despite the surreal situation, he tried to stay focused and gave himself a time frame to be released. However, as time passed, he realized the severity of his situation and the brutality of his captors.
